Music Tuition

Learn individually or in groups on a variety of instruments. Join an informal chamber or folk group or take up individual tuition -  all ages and standards are welcome. Teaching mainly takes place at home, near Thornhill. Learning an instrument with an intuitive teacher is a fantastic way to unlock your own or your child's creative potential and pleasure.

Instrumental Tuition for children
(piano and cello only)

You will know your own child best of all, but as a general rule 4-5 years is a good age for group music & movement classes rather than individual instrumental tuition. Group lessons are less intense and can bridge the gap between pre-school play groups and the maturity required to learn individually. Between the ages of 5 and 7, children generally start to be able to engage with a teacher and an instrument and show some level of personal commitment and interest. If your child shows an interest in music around this time, why not give them a few taster lessons? Adelaide takes a fun and enthusiastic approach to teaching children piano, cello and music appreciation, combining a gentle amount of instrumental teaching with entertaining and creative musical games and pieces. Two pupils can learn together, or join each other from time to time to work in ensembles, and/or to perform to each other.  With Ash Tree Music you can be sure that children from the most inhibited to the most imaginative are given a safe, encouraging and enjoyable introduction to the world of music.

FEES for Piano or Cello Lessons on a One-to-One basis.

Prices vary depending on specific arrangements and do not include travel expenses. As a rule, Adelaide teaches from home, but is happy to discuss very local travel (at an extra cost) if necessary and depending on the time of day.

As of January 2012, Ash Tree Music will be accepting cash only when absolutely necessary. Please help by making the shift to electronic payments as soon as possible! Once you have set up e-payments to Ash Tree Music's business account, the payments will be a doddle, and gone will be the days of coins  and cash and trips to the cash machine and the bank!! Thank you for helping make this happen. Bulk payments will also be encouraged, as this gives me peace of mind and encourages reliabiltity. If you need to cancel a lesson, payment will be taken unless 24 hour's notice is given, in which case payment will roll over to the next lesson. Thank you.
